If you have experience creating edibles in the Cannabis Industry, we are seeking a Confectionary Chef - Cannabis, to lead their Cannabis Edibles Team for their top site in Eugene , Oregon. TheConfectionary Chef is responsible for navigating day to day operations producing products infused with various Cannabis derived oils. This position will work closely with the Extraction Team to ensure workflow meets the necessary specifications and Kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly. Must be able to follow instructions and react quickly even in high stress environments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Create and perfect our recipes and formulas for marijuana infused products
- Design, test, and develop infused recipes that meet all requirements at the federal, state, and local level
- Manufacture and scale production to meet market demand
- Ensure all processes are compliant with regulatory guidelines
- Schedule kitchen staff shifts, if needed
- Order food supplies and kitchen equipment through company resources, as needed
- Train kitchen staff on product creation, sanitation, and all required processes that need to be delegated
- Store food products in compliance with safety practices
- Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
- Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
- Ensure proper incorporation of extracts into products
- Coordinate with other teams to ensure compliance with the Department of Public Health
- Audit inventory regularly to ensure full compliance
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree (Food Science strongly preferred)
- Experience infusing foods and other products with cannabis oil infusion required
- Experience with the emulsification of food products
- 5+ years experience creating candies, chocolates, cookies, brownies, etc.
Additional Qualifications:
- 3+ years management experience within commercial kitchen or food production environment
- A strong understanding of food science, chemistry, and product design
- Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus
- Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
- Hands-on experience with product planning and ordering ingredients
- Knowledge of a wide range of recipes
- Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
- Excellent organizational skills
Compensation: $15- 19.00 an hour plus a percentage of sales for the right person
