WTTW (Chicago PBS) is seeking an energetic, currently or formerly-licensed educator to facilitate a live kids' program. This engaging, hands-on position will travel to venues in and around Chicago such as libraries, daycares, senior centers, and schools to present a 30-45 minute, interactive program to groups of preschool-aged children, teachers, parents, caregivers and seniors. The program will include sparking discussion with children, setting up and leading activities, and coaching children on the lesson at hand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Foster professional relationships with parents, local communities, and key WTTW partners
Execute up to 40 programs within the 2024 calendar year
Pack up, transport, and set up banners and activity materials on-site.
Lead 30-45 minutes of semi-scripted PBS lesson plans including media screenings, story time, sing-a-longs, hands-on activities, and dialogues on the day's topic
Hand out take home items
Familiarize self with PBS education resources promoted on parent handouts
Opportunity for additional hours on other departmental events and special projects

Access to a reliable vehicle on program days
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years teaching experience
Presentation and/or public speaking background
Theatrical experience a plus, but not a requirement
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
Professional educator's license (current or expired)
Valid driver's license
