About the Role

  • Full time, permanent role (35 hours per week)
  • Based in Campbelltown
  • Salary from $76,938 pa, plus super and access to generous salary packaging options

 

As part of the Children, Youth and Family team, you'll be responsible for the provision of early intervention and prevention casework and case management to families with children and young people in their care at risk of or escalating further into the child protection system.


What you will be doing day to day

  • Provide early intervention casework and case management to vulnerable families with complex needs
  • Assess family's strengths and needs using Uniting's Early Intervention Common Assessment Tool (CAT), including other evidence based tools
  • Assist families and formulate and achieve goals that are child focussed and address the safety and well being of children and young people
  • Support parents/carers to develop their skills, using role modelling, teaching strategies as appropriate and using home visiting and facilitating parenting groups
  • Build and maintain position relationships with children, young people and their parents/carers particularly Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander communities and/or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse.


About You

  • Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, social welfare or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of social issues which may impact children and young people and their parents/carers. Including experience working in child protection, domestic and Family violence, mental health and drug and alcohol misuse
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach parenting skills to people accessing early intervention services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues with an ability to conduct risk and Family assessments using a strengths based approach.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting Aboriginal families using culturally safe and sensitive interventions.
