Childcare Teacher – Wildflower Early Learning Center
Wildflower Early Learning Center is hiring a full-time teacher to join our family. Wildflower Early Learning Center is located on a beautiful 8-acre property adjacent to Murphy Hanrehan Park Reserve in Savage, MN. Our unique property allows for both indoor and outdoor learning, play, and exploration. About: Wildflower Early Learning Center is a nature-based learning, play-based development licensed childcare center. We serve 3-5-year-olds Monday thru Friday 6:30am-6:00pm. We strive to provide high-quality education through hands-on exploration. We use children’s curiosity and sense of wonder to fuel investigations and in-depth project work. We capitalize on real-life teachable moments to promote self-confidence, deepen social relationships, reinforce problem-solving skills, and strengthen connections to the environment.
General Position Description: We are looking for full-time teacher but could be interested in hiring part-time for the right fit. Teacher would assist in the execution of daily activities and day-to-day operations in the classroom. Teachers should understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. We are looking for an educator skilled in communicating with both children and adults. Primary Responsibilities
- Working alongside co-teachers to implement and achieve individual and group goals.
- Meet the individual needs of the children through observation, record keeping, and goal setting.
- Interacting with children to support play, exploration, and learning.
- Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills based on age-appropriate activities.
- Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff through day-to-day interaction via the Brightwheel app and in person.
- Participation in staff meetings in order to maintain a school atmosphere conducive to the healthy development of children and mutually supportive staff relationships that build teamwork and professional growth.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and classroom cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Participation in occasional annual community-building events.
- Using assessment tools and family/staff communication apps.
Teacher Qualifications
- At least one year of full-time childcare experience.
- Assistant Teacher, or greater, qualified per DHS/State of MN.
- Classroom management experience a plus.
- Pursuing or holds a CDA, associate degree or higher, in Early Childhood Education or related field is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- First Aid/CPR certification - a plus. Will provide certification training if needed.
- Experience or education in a specialized area i.e. music or environmental education a plus.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift a child or children with a total weight of 50 pounds. Conduct activities involving substantial standing, walking, and moderate sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending on a frequent basis.
