Childcare Teacher Assistant

Successful Growth Academy is seeking experienced and educated staff for our center in Upper Darby.

Qualified Candidate:

• Must have at least a GED or High school Diploma (CDA or a degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred)
• At least two years experience working with children in a child care setting.
• Must be 18 years or older
• No criminal background

Job Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
• Help to implement weekly lesson plans based on SGA Guidelines and monthly school themes
• Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence while supporting each child’s social and emotional development, and individual needs
• Establish positive and effective family relations through interactive parent communication
• Appropriate and professional communication with fellow staff and management, cultivating a healthy and functional working environment that fosters teamwork
• Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions
• Work with a team of other teachers in the classroom

Job Requirements:
All candidates, who wish to be considered must meet the following criteria:

• To be considered candidate must have prior classroom experience at a childcare center or experience as a nanny/babysitter working with children under the age of 5
• Strong work ethic and communication skills
• Positive attitude and inherent love for young children
• Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds

Education:

• High School Diploma
• CDA
• ECE credits

Documents/Clearances:

FBI Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, State Background Clearance, NSOR Clearance, 2 Professional Reference Letters, Valid State ID, Physical Health Assessment, Health and Safety Training, Mandated Child Abuse Training, Fire Safety Training (Within 90 days of hire), CPR Certification, Betterkidcare Health and Safety training.
