About Us:
Midtown Psychology Services is a growing practice that provides individual and group therapy services for children, adolescents and adults in Manhattan. We are dedicated to delivering personalized and evidence-based therapeutic services and value inclusivity, empathy, and flexibility in our work with clients.
Clinicians who work at Midtown Psychology Services have the opportunity to receive supervision in a number of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Habit Reversal Training, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to receive specialized experience and training in working with children who present as twice exceptional (2e), i.e. those who are both gifted and presenting with social, emotional, and/or executive functioning challenges.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a part-time clinician to join our team. The role is open to individuals with an LMSW, LCSW or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and teens in individual and group therapy settings. The position requires availability on weekday evenings and/or weekends to accommodate the diverse schedules of our clients. The role will have the opportunity to grow into a full-time position over the course of the year, if desired.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual therapy sessions for children and adolescents.
- Provide group therapy to children to address social thinking skills.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
- Collaborate with families and schools to develop personalized treatment plans and goals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
- Participate in regular team meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- LMSW, LCSW or doctorate degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology.
- Licensed or license-eligible in the state of New York.
- Experience in providing individual therapy to youth.
- Training and proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work on weekday evenings and/or weekends.
- Ability to work both remotely and in-person, with a commitment to maintaining a hybrid schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in school settings.
- Experience providing Social Thinking interventions.
- Experience providing executive functioning interventions.
