DAYCARE FLOATER AND ASSISTANT TEACHERS DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the lead teacher in carrying out the curriculum and daily activities, including both long- and short-range goals
- Support the lesson plans and activities provided by the Lead Teacher and follow their lead and direction
- Uphold and engage in the program's philosophy
- Maintain a consistent daily routine, including classroom structures, mealtimes, physical play, a nap period, and outside play
- Assist children throughout the daily routine; provide extra assistance in the bathroom, during the transition, and during meal times.
- Encourage age-appropriate learning experiences
- Sing songs, play games, read books, and build from the children's knowledge and skills
- Adapt to the needs of all children in the classroom
- Assist in conflict management between children in the classroom; teach the children skills that they are missing
- Building lasting relationships and connections with children and families
- Physically move yourself around the environment to actively engage and monitor children inside and outside to ensure everyone's safety.
- Engage children in positive, productive activities that support their learning and development
- Provide quality, nurturing care to all children enrolled in the program
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff; this includes cleaning responsibilities throughout the day
- Accurately fill out and maintain daily roster, daily reports, accident/incident reports, medication logs, and behavior documentation
- Stay current with all required training, including CPR, First Aid, SUIDS, and AHT.
