Job Title: Child Care Provider - Newburyport
Schedule: Wednesdays, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Compensation: $20-$25/hour, commensurate with experience
Location: Newburyport, MA
Background: The New American Association of Massachusetts (NAAM) is a non-profit organization that
provides social support services to refugees and immigrants in northeastern Massachusetts. Core services
include: ESOL and literacy classes, employment, case management, citizenship, youth programming, and
more. We are currently hiring a Child Care Provider to supervise a small group of children (aged 0-3) while
their mothers participate in a sewing class.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitor children and ensure safety at all times
• Plan and lead activities such as reading, games, physical activity, and arts
• Ensure play environment is kept sanitary
• Communicate with mothers and program staff (who will be in the same building)
Physical Demands:
• Sit on the floor and bend down to meet child’s needs
• Perform all activities with the children, including running, jumping, etc.
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Available Wednesdays, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Experience, either professional or personal, with young children
• Vaccinated against COVID-19 and comfortable working in-person
• Reliable, flexible, communicative, and able to take initiative
Preferred Qualifications:
• College degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
• Experience working with multilingual toddlers
• Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification
