Pedagogical leadership, skills to implement a progressive child development program aiming to make a global impact. Think beyond Reggio, Montessori, Summerhill, Waldorf with good current + historical social science understanding of education in US and abroad. Skilled in multicultural/cross-cultural approaches to ECE. Understand pedagogical principles (0-3 years old) to articulate progressive pedagogical strategies, communicate with funders, govt regulators, politicians, and to enable articulate, knowledgeable grant proposals, update teachers' manuals, teach and inspire new teachers, etc. Assist in research for publications on issues of sociology and politics of education and cutting-edge pedagogical approaches. Lobby with gravitas for childcare equity as needed. Conduct teacher workshops, classroom observations, reflective supervision sessions and support to teachers. Roll-up-the-sleeves duties include mastering govt. regulations/laws relevant to funding, employee manual/ personnel policy, legal compliance. Understand when, where, and how to invest/expand and to create educational efficiencies. Tap resources of Bridge's vanguard pedagogical approaches to expand Bridge's revenue, public familiarity, outreach. Superior writing and verbal skills required.
Educational Requirements & Certificates:
Ph.D./Ed.D./M.A in ECE/Child Development or related field with at least plus major coursework in social/ human sciences or history, e.g., degree in sociology of education, politics of education, history/ philosophy of education, or other such amalgamations. Infant/Toddler Director Credential, ECE Level 3 Credential required. Knowledge of DCFS licensing standards, DFSS requirement, Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD a plus.
At least 2-5 years supervisory experience and 2-5 years teaching experience with children
Salary range:
60,000 - 80,000
may require limited OT @ time and a half
