- High school diploma or GED certificate and must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
- Knowledge of basic child and youth development principles to meet the physical, emotional, social, an intellectual development needs of children and youth.
- Ability to promote and foster effective working relationships with children, youth, and coworkers.
- Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds and over, sit and rise from the floor, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
- Prior experience working with children and/or youth.
