Position Summary
As a member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Operations Officer (COO) will actively participate in strategic, operation, and financial decision-making. The COO will have oversight of multiple departments ensuring achievement of adopted goals and strategies. The COO will have an active role in establishing systems and structures to support the overall vision and strategic direction for the City of Albuquerque while assessing and identifying operational strategies, performance metrics, and financial performance of assigned departments.
This is an unclassified at-will position

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably as a Chief Operating Officer or similar position preferred.
Experience managing operational aspects of a large multifaceted organization preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.

- Prepare and administer large and complex budgets
- Prepare administrative and financial reports
