Position Details
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership to advance Chancellor priorities and initiatives.
- Leads campus wide strategic planning efforts in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and ensure timely communication on goals, progress, and key performance indicators to campus and university governing bodies and the campus community more broadly.
- Participates in key constituent and shared governance meetings to guide strategy and policy implementation and ensure responsive follow-up and accountability.
- Oversees the operation and meetings of the Chancellor’s Senior Leadership Team and Executive Leadership Team.
- Supervises the staff and administrative team working within the Office of the Chancellor; oversees all scheduling, planning, and communications for the Chancellor.
- Contributes actively to fostering an inclusive and welcoming community that will enable faculty, staff, and students to thrive.
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience is required.
- Also requires seven years of relevant experience.
- The successful candidate will be an experienced higher education leader, with the energy and interpersonal and leadership skills needed to support a visionary, action-focused Chancellor and Senior Leadership Team.
- A high degree of skill in relationship-building and partnering with individuals and departments across the university.
- The ability to initiate and lead cross-divisional programs and projects.

- Steering strategic business initiatives from genesis to fruition.
- Pinpointing and addressing core issues within business processes.
- Presenting the Chancellor and other senior leaders with detailed operations analysis.
- Evaluating risk factors when making critical decisions.
- Completing special projects and initiatives with skillful oversight and support.
- Leading large-scale meetings and workshops with meticulous planning and coordination.
- Identifying areas of improvement across the organization and making actionable recommendations.

- A Master’s degree or advanced degree in a related area is preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Qualtrics.
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
