Gateway, Birmingham’s oldest child and family services organization, is seeking a Chief of Staff. This position is responsible for helping move the agency forward in its strategic plan through project management, strategic relationships, innovative thinking, effective communication, and cross-departmental coordination. The Chief of Staff leads and ensures the completion of initiatives as directed by the CEO and supports the CEO and senior leadership team in executing work plans and working with community partners. The successful candidate is a self-starter with mature judgment and can act and execute tasks aligned with the CEO’s goals and vision for the agency. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization skills, and a successful track record with project management, grants management, written communications, relationship management, event planning, strategy development and execution, problem analysis, and solution generation. This person works as a servant leader, with the agency mission, CEO, and senior team success as top priorities. Requires a bachelor’s degree in social services or a closely related field; a master’s degree is highly preferred, especially in social work. Licensure is a plus. Direct experience with client services and program management is a plus.
This full-time position is located in Birmingham and requires the employee to work in the office.
