Job Description – Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
Department: Nursing
Direct Report to: Chief Executive Officer
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for setting patient care standards, establishing processes and protocols.

SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the CNO monitors the nursing department, overseeing administrative.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• MSN completed from an accredited school of Nursing and current BLS certification required
• At least 5 years prior experience as a nursing leader preferably with hospital and behavioral health experience
• Computer proficiency, including EMR
• Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Completion of CPR and CPI within first 30 days of employment
• Positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with patients along with sound clinical
judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, provide patient-driven customer service, and
exercise time management skills Schedule flexibility may be REQUIRED to accommodate client admissions.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintaining compliance with government and facility regulations
• Serve as a liaison between nurses and clinicians
• Recommend strategies for improving patient care
• Managing and communicating policies and procedures
• Serve as a voice for the clinical care nursing and empower them to reach new heights of clinical excellence.
• Improve the operational efficiency within the organization. They will ensure the daily operations and procedures.
