Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as our Chief Information Officer (CIO) and join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
The successful candidate will direct development and implementation of Information Technology (IT) programs to support user group needs and requirements. Provide strategic and tactical planning and evaluation of existing IT systems. Oversee the integration of software systems site-wide. Provide technological vision and leadership for SIMCO IT programs. Provide strategic and technical planning, development, evaluation and coordination of information and technology systems. Management of the WIPP Enterprise Architecture. Report to the Baseline Integration Manager and interface with all levels of personnel. Make recommendations to senior staff as to the necessity of various software and the recommended replacement or elimination of the software. Directs the Information technology cyber security oversight program to verify programmatic and statutory compliance in support of the WIPP mission. Has working knowledge of system functions, cyber security policies, and technical cyber security measures to provide cyber security expertise for recommending the acceptance of risk for Government computing networks. Coordinate and provide support to all external Cyber Security oversight functions for the U.S. DOE and affiliates connected to the Government computing network. Assess SIMCO/subcontractor compliance with DOE Orders and regulating documents.
Exempt Salary Grade (38-42)
Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and completed applications are the means of determination.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related field is required.
- Fifteen (15) years of professional experience in IT services is mandatory.
- Five (5) years of management/supervisory experience in the IT discipline is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Preferred Requirements:
- DOE Contractor experience preferred.
- DOE “Q” Clearance is preferred.
- Experience working with DOE orders and requirements is desired.
- Working knowledge of governmental IT requirements and commercial IT policies/procedures.
- Experience and/or certification in DOE Project Management is a plus.
Starting salary $147,518 per year *
- Base salary will be dependent upon candidate's background (i.e. education and experience)
