Gulf Coast Educators FCU is looking for our next Chief Financial Officer! The CFO's essential duties encompass the strategic oversight of Asset Liability and Liquidity Management to manage risks and optimize capital sources. Additionally, they are responsible for overall financial management, financial forecasting, accounting, and compliance, making strategic decisions to ensure the Credit Union's financial stability and growth.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Asset Liability and Liquidity Management (ALM):
- Oversee and direct the Credit Union's investment activities as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization.
- Analyze interest rate risk and economic value of equity using sophisticated analytical methods and mathematical models, incorporating various interest rate forecast scenarios and funds transfer methodologies.
- Proactively identify and address new or emerging interest rate risks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices related to ALM.
- Collaborate with the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) to align funds transfer pricing (FTP) processes with balance sheet management functions.
- Act as the primary liaison with Asset Liability Management (ALM) vendors.
Financial Management:
- Promote the Credit Union in financial markets to attract capital sources and support organizational growth.
- Create long-term financial forecast models to support strategic initiatives and evaluate short- and long-term goals and objectives.
- Manage the operational budget and longer-term capital and business development plans.
- Provide relevant and accurate financial information to credit union department leaders to aid executive decision-making processes.
- Formulate and execute investment policies, preparing accurate financial forecasts.
- Serve as a key member of the executive team, contributing to the overall financial strategy and growth of the Credit Union.
Accounting:
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate financial reports, maintaining meticulous records of the Credit Union's financial and accounting transactions.
- Oversee Treasury, financial audit, tax, accounting, and real estate activities within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate month-end closing procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and reconciling processes for safekeeping, control, and accounting of assets and securities.
Other:
- Write, review, and distribute financial policy and procedure statements to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
- Evaluate and enhance organizational profitability while establishing efficient departmental reporting processes.
- Collaborate with auditors and examiners during year-end and comprehensive audits.
- Serve as a member of the Compliance Committee, ensuring adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act, governmental regulations, and Credit Union Policies.
Requirements
Experience: Extensive experience as a CFO or in senior financial leadership roles within the banking or credit union industry.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; A master's degree is preferred.
