The YWCA Chief Executive Officer(CEO) is responsible for ensuring that the YWCA Central Alabama is considered a recognized leader and a premier model for societal change through its crisis intervention, advocacy, youth programming, nationally accredited child development center, affordable housing, and education and training efforts. The CEO will passionately lead our dedicated mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all as the public face and brand of the organization.
In a sound and fiscally prudent manner, the CEO will ensure the YWCA Central Alabama supports the community, through our program and services and advocates for policies and practices that impact the people we serve.
This is a hands-on leader and role model who is accountable to the team and to an active Board; a strategic, analytical, and out-of-the box thinker; an effective and courageous head-on problem solver with a can-do attitude; and someone who responds to challenges with sound, consistent, and fair judgment. The CEO is also a collaborative and communicative leader who can successfully motivate and inspire a team and Board members, as well as a wide range of constituents, supporters, and community members.
In addition to serving as the organization’s strategic leader, the CEO’s core responsibilities will include: financial management, fund development, program planning, Board management, volunteer engagement, and serving as the champion of culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion in the organization.
