POSITION SUMMARY:
Has overall responsibility for forward thinking goals for Lending and Credit at the Bank. Responsible for the overall credit administration of the bank's lending activities and loan portfolio; establishes and implements commercial, consumer, and mortgage lending objectives, policies, and practices; provides guidance to officers engaged in lending; participates in business development activities; approves large or complex loans. Responsible for the overall profitability and quality of the bank loan portfolio. Oversees and manages the commercial loan portfolio. makes critical decisions independently. Operates within established lending authority and guidelines; provides optimum profitability balanced with acceptable risk. Ensures adherence to established bank loan procedures, practices and reporting requirements. Conducts relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage bank commercial, consumer, and mortgage lending portfolio. Evaluate the loan portfolio and analyze any developing trends. Review approved loans and delinquency reports to ensure that policies and practices are being followed. Report new loans, delinquencies and other loan-related issues to the Board of Directors at its monthly meetings.
Assist in developing, implementing, and revising lending policies and procedures for the bank's lending activities, consistent with holding company standards. Keep informed of lending trends in the industry.
Provide advice and guidance to loan officers and lending leaders. Consult with loan officers and Credit Officer on larger and more complex loans. Ensure effective training and development of loan officers and other lending personnel. Coordinate the dissemination of information on lending policy, practices and procedures, and ensure that exceptions are identified and corrected.
Direct the loan review, accounting, credit, collection and other support activities related to lending.
Exercise the usual authority of a senior manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations. Responsible for formal annual communication of performance reviews with direct reports.
Responsible for the attainment of the bank's loan objectives to include origination, outstanding, delinquency, charge-off, fee income, interest income, and return on assets.
Ensure lending staff's thorough knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory issues relating to loan policy and procedures (i.e. CRA, Fair Lending, etc.) evidenced by appropriate application of these regulations in day-to-day operations.
Complete or attend all required training.

May be assigned other duties and responsibilities. May be assigned work or training at other assigned locations.
Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in finance or business preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Eight or more years lending experience with detailed knowledge of current bank lending practice, procedures and policies, lending regulations (state and federal), lien laws, collection/bankruptcy regulations, and loan documentation. Strong knowledge of commercial, mortgage and consumer lending.
Strong ability to analyze financial statements and assess loan risk. Must possess good judgment skills. Ability to make critical decisions independently, research and solve problems, work independently, handle confidential information and manage multiple tasks.
Thorough knowledge of bank products and services.
Demonstrated management and coaching skills for lending staff.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Excellent verbal, listening and communication skills. Strong customer relations skills and ability to work with employees and customers in a cooperative manner. Ability and desire to work as part of a team, and with people of diverse backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to resolve conflict situations.
Ability and desire to represent Central Bank of the Ozarks in the community.
Ability to use PC and telecommunications for organizational advantage and communication.
Ability to accept and facilitate change caused by customer demand, corporate needs, or regulatory requirements.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to drive a vehicle. Must maintain a current, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for bank insurance purposes.
