SUMMARY - Moves all incoming and outgoing freight to and from appropriate designated areas by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Monitors battery usage daily.
- Removes material from inventory and distributes it to required machines. Returns unused material back to inventory.
- Moves product to appropriate areas based on supervisor instructions.
- Pulls and delivers product from racking, bins, and storage areas.
- Wraps and weights packages and skids.
- Loads trucks as necessary.
- Drives forklift
- Reports any forklift malfunction to supervisor.
- Uses the Warehouse Inventory System
- Uses the scale to weight skids.
Other Job Functions:
- Stacks raw material in storage area and scans it into inventory.
- Safely handles scrap during and after production run.
- Keeps areas clean and organized in a 5S manner.
- May assists in training of other employees as required.
- Assists other departments to run production when need it.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE –
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS – Elgin Industries Forklift and drivers license are required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
