Chemistry Tutor University Level

Tutor Doctor Mt. Vernon is looking for experienced tutors who have a strong interest in guiding university students. If you have a genuine desire to help students improve and build confidence, we have part-time and full-time opportunities with online and in-person tutoring sessions.

Preference is given to candidates who have a bachelor’s degree or expecting to receive a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Tutor in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the, terminology, and teaching practices relevant to the student.
• Assess students learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
• Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment
• Produce session reports for each student, to measure their progress and areas for growth and keep the the family informed on growth.

Qualifications

• Tutors must be proficient in chemistry
• Tutors should be equipped to assist students with closing skills gaps
• Tutors must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with tutoring or teaching in the subject area(s)
• Excellent computer skills;
• Be able to work remotely from home and available for in person commitments as well.
• An overall GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the subject area to be tutored *or* external applicant that demonstrates the ability and experience in the subject field
• All applicants will have to present copies of all transcripts and clearly demonstrate a mastery of Chemistry concepts and techniques via grade reports

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
