Job Description
Amerilab Technologies is a growing and leading US manufacturer in the development, manufacturing, and packaging of effervescent tablets, and effervescent and non-effervescent powders in stick packs and sachets, and we are currently seeking skilled and experienced Chemist II to join our team.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
The Chemist II is responsible for performing analysis of raw materials, finished products, and in-process samples using wet chemistry and analytical chemistry. The position is assigned primary ownership for specific duties outlined within this description as dictated by quality management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performs wet chemistry test procedures per approved test methods and compendia (USP, FCC)
- Demonstrates high proficiency with Titrators, balances, FTIR, UV and other supporting instrumentation through testing.
- Performs HPLC analysis on a frequent basis
- Authors, reviews and updates Test Methods and Standard Operating Procedures as needed
- Reviews laboratory data and documentation as needed
- Notifies QC management of out of specification (OOS) and inspection issues as they occur
- Leads internal and external laboratory and inspection investigations as required
- Assists with Stability Study initiation and pulls as needed
- Enters, reviews and/or approves data entry in electronic databases as required
- Supports the organization by representing the laboratory for cross functional tasks.
- Coordinates with metrology, facilities, and outside vendors with scheduling and execution of instrument maintenance/calibrations
- Supports the vendor qualification program as required
- Assists with test method validations as directed
- Coordinates and maintains external testing of materials and products as required
- Coordinates and maintains laboratory training program as specified
- Assesses systems, documentation, and processes for efficiencies and compliance as needed
- Supports the Quality organization with other duties as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education / Experience / Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or other science related field with a minimum of 9 years’ experience in food, nutritional supplement, or pharmaceutical industry.
Preferred:
- Experience working independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of Waters Empower Chromatography data system.
- Experienced with analytical method development and validation for HPLC and/or ICP-MS
Skills Required:
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good understanding of 21CRF parts 101, 111, and/or 211
- Good understanding of cGMPs and other applicable compliance requirements
- Demonstrates good understanding of analytical chemistry principles
- Demonstrates strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Is organized and demonstrates strong time management skills
- Demonstrated high level proficiency working with HPLC and ICP-MS
- Has a strong understanding of HPLC and ICP-MS. Able to perform chromatography and instrument maintenance
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient with statistical mathematical calculations, calculator, spreadsheets, and other statistical programs.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and review documentation for completeness and legibility
- Demonstrated ability to complete assignments to meet timelines without direct oversight
- Demonstrated ability to resolve issues with co-workers or customers to reach mutually acceptable outcomes and communicates in a professional manner.
- Capable of interaction at all levels of the organization
