Production Operator - For Batch chemical manufacturing plant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- Maintain work area in a clean and neat manner and in accordance with cGMP.
- Experience in running chemical batch reactors, controlling and monitoring the parameters using PLC.
- Capable to take in process samples and analyze it for %moisture, %Acid, Hydroxyl, Color etc
- Safely operate and monitor chemical process equipment in area of responsibility.
- Maintain batch sheets, spreadsheets, control charts, and other documentation.
- Provide clear communication at shift change.
- Assist co-workers as needed and as directed by Shift lead/supervisor.
- Material movements (drums, forklift, etc.)
- Coordinate activities with maintenance, including preparing equipment for repairs.
- Follow production, safety and quality procedures to verify and record information.
- Understanding of Quality Control requirements for sampling and product testing.
- Troubleshoot process & equipment problems, automation program, and support the teams.
- Recognize problems and unusual events and communicate to Shift Leader.
- Proactively recommend changes to Batch Sheets and SOPs.
- Ensure understanding of all safety, quality, housekeeping, and operational procedures, in order to utilize tools, equipment, electronic/computer systems.
- Ensure safe operation of forklift, drum handling equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Prior equipment operator experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Experience in proper handling chemicals.
- Knowledge of chemical process and an understanding of special formula instructions.
- 1 to 2 years of chemical process experience.
- Equipment operator experience in a chemical plan environment.
Language Ability
- Ability to read standard operating procedures, company policies and procedures, GMP procedures, safety and sanitary procedures and equipment readings.
- Ability to complete written batch records.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervision.
Math Ability:
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
- Ability to conduct or learn conversion of metric to English measure, Density/Spgr calculations
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, measurements and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to evaluate results, make recommendations.
- Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to read and execute work instructions as required on batch sheets and other manufacturing documents including SDS.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with operation and use of Delta V,
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in and walk-through production areas.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Work within a team environment where workplace respect is vital.
- Work near moving mechanical or pneumatic equipment or parts, toxic or acids/caustic chemicals and risk of electrical.
- Must be able to work indoor/outdoor in adverse weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to work 8-hour shift schedule in chemical manufacturing environment.
- Must be clean-shaven (no beard).
- Must be able to pass the company-subsidized annual physical examination to determine physical fitness for use of a respirator.
- Must be able to pass the annual respiratory protection training necessary for understanding and skill in the use of the respiratory equipment.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
- Utilize hands to finger, handle, feel, twist, grab, hold; reach with hands and arms; write, utilize keyboard to type (75% to 100%)
- Ability to walk, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit or crawl; climb stairs as needed at various intervals throughout shift (50%- 75).
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus, to read documents, computer screens, and other communications (100%).
- Must be able to communicate with management, co-workers and other departments. (75% to 100%)
Full time Position: Full time.
Shift: Permanent Day shift Or Afternoon shift or Night Shift.
Over Time: Must be willing to work Overtime.
Pay: Hourly pay will commensurate with Level of Experience.
Paid: Weekly

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
