Job description

Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Chemical Process Engineer II
Sedron Technologies designs and manufactures advanced water, and waste upcycling technologies that transform the paradigm of Waste Processing to Resource Recovery. Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
  • Lead and participate in engineering activities, including the design of Chemical Processes, unit operations, and related components
  • Participate in engineering reviews and provide oversight on scopes of work with chemical engineering deliverables
  • Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through start up and operation
  • Work directly with the customer and internal technical teams to ensure progress on all stages of project lifecycle
  • Work directly with operators to optimize processes to meet all customer and internal requirements
  • Analyze and troubleshoot process problems to make continuous improvements
  • Utilize Aspen Technologies' software suite to design and evaluate unit operations
  • Manage key vendor relationships where applicable for components unique to their team
  • Oversee and directly contribute to the creation and maintenance of P&IDs for complex systems and processes
  • Work with our technologies in a live production environment to inform process improvement; a certain degree of mechanical and process aptitude is required
  • Oversee operations within a wet chemistry lab
  • Work directly with other disciplines (engineering, sales, construction, permitting, etc.) to quickly respond to or elevate chemical engineering and related concerns
  • Professionally represent Sedron in customer interactions
  • Prioritize duties and responsibilities in order to fulfill objectives
  • Demonstrate the ability to work individually and within a multidisciplinary team, communicating and collaborating with technicians and engineers alike
  • Educate and provide recommendations regarding safety, permitting, and process improvement. Comply with all safety, 5S, and HazMat practices
  • Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Demonstrate passion and excitement for solving difficult yet interesting problems
  • Arrive to work on time and maintain good attendance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field is required
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar field or related role
  • Experience with Aspen Technologies' software suite or other process modeling software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software is required
  • Willingness to travel to support site needs for a minimum of 6 weeks per year
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language

ADDITIONAL DESIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience designing and overseeing operation of distillation, absorption, and/or stripping tower systems
  • Experience designing and overseeing operation of evaporation systems
  • Experience designing and overseeing operation of reverse osmosis separation systems
  • Experience with permit writing and implementation

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Wage range for this role is between $75,000-$122,000/annually
  • Discretionary bonus
  • The range provided is Sedron's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.

Must be a US Citizen or legal permanent resident for this position. We are unable to sponsor any employment visas.
