CHEMICAL OPERATOR

Dipharma Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI is currently seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented candidate for the position of Chemical Operator. Experience in a GMP chemical production environment is required. The successful candidate will be able to work within a supportive team environment for chemical and pharmaceutical production. Purpose:

To ensure that production for APIs, finished products, and intermediates in a GMP environment is performed in a safe and efficient manner, following all established guidelines, and supporting all Production Department activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, and REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with 1 year related experience or military experience, or associates degree is required
• Experience working in a GMP environment and knowledge of EHS guidelines is strongly desired
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and procedures

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs production operations in a GMP environment (e.g. operate equipment and processing areas), in order to produce APIs, finished products, and intermediates.
• Adheres to pre-approved batch records, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Assures that all production batch records are completed and signed in a timely fashion.
• Follows operating instructions and maintains accurate records.
• Performs all operations according to all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, and GMP guidelines.
• Conducts work in a timely fashion to maintain the production schedule.
• Understands and follows all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensures that waste is properly disposed, the facility and equipment are kept clean, and appropriate records are maintained.
• Performs minor maintenance activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Will work in a laboratory environment where cooler temperatures may need to be maintained and noise level may be at a medium to high level
• Will work with hazardous chemicals
• Requires the use of proper personal protection equipment at all times when working in the laboratory
• Requires ability to regularly sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, and frequent walking between laboratories
• Requires visual acuity to read computer or equipment results
• Requires manual dexterity to handle small and large equipment
• Ability to lift from ground or overhead up to 40 lbs without assistance
• May be required to work 2nd shift and weekends hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
