Chemical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform simple machinist duties and mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, and defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Requirements:

• Previous work experience as a wastewater treatment operator or similar related role.
• Annual Hazwoper refresher
• Working knowledge of plating tank chemistry (CEF certification helpful).
• Good organizational skills, able to follow instructions, and work independently without supervision
• Ability to lift and move 1-75 lbs. as needed.
• Ability to manage multiple jobs at the same time
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
• High school graduate or equivalent is a plus!

EQUIPMENT USED

• Required safety equipment—glasses, aprons, boots, face shields, respirators, and gloves as needed.
• Pneumatic, Electric centripetal, centrifugal, peristaltic, and diaphragm pumps for transferring chemicals.
• Hoists, various saws, drills, torches, and analytical equipment.
• Log books for documentation of maintenance schedules.
• SDS sheets for proper safe handling of chemicals.
