Job Description:
- Using a variety of testing equipment including GCs, HPLC, FTIR, Spectrophotometers, Viscometers, Ovens, balances, pH meters, Microscopy, LIMS & SAP data systems.
- Conducting analytical testing on emulsion polymerization products and plant wastewater in support of In-Process and Finished Goods 24/7 ISO 9001 manufacturing operations.
- Evaluating data versus internal and external specifications
- Evaluating incoming Raw Materials
- Performing bacteria testing
- Interacting with the Supply Chain and Operations departments at the Monaca site to expedite shipments to customers utilizing SAP
- Contributing and adhering to Safety, Environmental, Quality, and EEO/AA standards of the Corporation, Division, and Site
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Biology or Chemistry or 2-year Technical degree in Analytical Testing with a minimum 6+ months of industrial experience in a QA/QC or R&D or Analytical or Environmental laboratory environment OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum 3+ years of relevant industrial lab experience in either a QA/QC or R&D or Analytical or Environmental Laboratory required.
- Ability to operate various computer-controlled instruments, in addition to a familiarity with personal computers
- Experience with Microsoft Office products; ie., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of testing equipment found in a laboratory setting; ie., GCs, HPLC, FTIRS, Viscometers
- The well-developed analytical methodology and insight into problem-solving.
- Knowledge of SPC
- Detail-oriented with the ability to record (via notebook or computer) and report pertinent data
- Organizational skills
- Must be able to achieve a passing score on a pre-placement aptitude test
- On occasion, must be able to lift to a maximum of 30 lbs.
- Must be able to follow both written procedures and verbal instructions
- Must be able to follow all applicable safety procedures including correct personal protective equipment.
- Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and interact with management and employees within the organization
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime when required
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years experience in a lab position of increasing responsibility.
- Experience working in an ISO or GMP compliance-driven lab environment
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment on a rotating shift.
- Experience with emulsion polymerization products, laboratory testing, and practices.
