The company has a staff of over 100, which consists of mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries. The Chemical Engineer I will perform a variety of research and development tasks in a chemical and analytical laboratory under the direction of a senior engineer, including preparing solutions, using analytical tools to identify products, and constructing and testing device prototypes. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in reaction and laboratory fundamentals, experimental design, and experience carrying out experiments.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Annual salary range: $65,000 to $90,000 plus the complete benefits package.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Execute safe and effective chemical handling techniques
- Follow detailed instructions when performing established experimental methods
- Use analytical methods to identify products and quantify the composition of product mixtures, such as GC, HPLC, NMR, FTIR and UV/VIS spectroscopy
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot devices, equipment, and control systems
- Analyze data and prepare experimental and quality control reports
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in R&D projects
- Create safety documents, submit documentation for safety approval
- Keep detailed records
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering
- 0-5 years of experience in R&D environment or in a chemical industry
- Excellent chemical hygiene
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with microcontroller platforms, such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi, and electronic hardware
- Experience with prototype fabrication techniques such as 3D printing and machine shop operation
- Lift 40 pounds
- Sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time
- Ascend and descend stairs and ladders
