The Role:

As Meyer Burger continues to grow, our facility team continues to evolve in response to this growth. This enables many opportunities for innovative solutions within the work environment for which you'll have a role in defining. As Meyer Burger's Facilities Chemical Engineer, you'll be working with a multidiscipline engineering team with strong ownership, teamwork, and accountability.


Your contribution to our vision (responsibilities):

  • Engineering support for Chemical/Gas, ultra pure water and waste water treatment systems operations & maintenance, ownership of system capacity vs. demand and system troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of chemical compatibility for materials for process fluids and gases; as well as materials of construction needed for chemical and gas systems to meet purity requirements.
  • Provide Facilities system engineering leadership to the site organizations in support of safety, reliability, quality, environmental and cost objectives.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance team to develop plans for maximizing operational and maintenance efficiency.
  • Perform systems assessments, develop and implement improvement roadmap via capital and expense projects.
  • Participate in both facilities' capital and tool installation design reviews ensuring outsourced design firms design to established Meyer Burger protocols and expectations.
  • Identify infrastructure improvements, which drive operating costs down, and/or support a more robust electrical integrity enhancing business uptime.
  • Manage and report on expense and capital budgets in support Chemical Engineering expense and management.
  • Permitting and Code compliance related to Chemical and Gas Systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Effectively manage system deliverables including points of delivery, utility parameters, specification limits and notification methods.
  • Development and maintenance of SOP's and SOO's for respective systems.
  • Active participation in review and approval of Site Incident Prevention Program (SIPP) requests which enable active construction/maintenance activities on site, while preventing negative business impacts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

You bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical or related engineering field.
  • 5+ experience with Semiconductor/PV Facilities Chemical and Gas Systems experience designing, maintaining, or installation of distribution piping, valve manifold boxes, gas cabinets, chemical supply pumping systems for hazardous and high purity chemicals and gases.
  • Demonstrates leadership and project management skills, including organizational, time management and priority setting.
  • Experience with gases and chemicals used in the semiconductor/PV industry.
  • Experience with industrial facilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with local and federal regulations related to facilities management.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong safety leadership.
