Kuberski Brothers Lawn Care is a full scale landscape and lawn care company serving all of Story County and the Des Moines Metro area. We are growing our lawn care side of the business and expanding our fertilizer program.
This Chemical Applicator Position is year-round salaried position. The successful applicant will be expected to assist snow removal during the winter months and other tasks as assigned during the summer season.
Overview:
As a Chemical Applicator for Lawn Care, your primary responsibility is to apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other chemical treatments to lawns and landscapes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and aesthetic appeal of clients' lawns while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chemical Application:
- Accurately mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and other chemicals to lawns and landscapes according to prescribed instructions and schedules.
- Utilize various application equipment such as sprayers, spreaders, and injection systems.
- Site Assessment:
- Conduct thorough assessments of lawns to determine specific treatment needs.
- Identify and diagnose lawn issues, including pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate records of chemicals used, application rates, and treatment schedules.
- Document and report any observed issues or concerns related to the health of lawns.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on application equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues for prompt resolution.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices in the handling and application of chemicals.
- Stay informed about and comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding chemical applications.

- Communicate effectively with clients to provide information about treatment plans, address concerns, and offer recommendations for lawn care improvement.
- Represent the company in a professional manner and build positive relationships with clients.

- Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must already possess a license to apply chemical applications commercially, specifically have a 3OT license.
- Valid driver license and clean driving record.
- Responsible, reliable, and timely.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in horticulture, agronomy, or a related field is a plus.
- Relevant experience in lawn care, landscaping, or chemical application.
- Knowledge of different types of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.
- Familiarity with various application equipment and tools.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to chemical applications.
- High level of professionalism and excellent communications skills while interacting with customers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
