Position Descriptions:

CHASSIS SUSPENSION SERIAL PRODUCTION QUALITY - SENIOR TEAM MANAGER

The Team Manager will be responsible for leadership of the Chassis Suspension Serial Production Product Quality Team. The Team Manager will engage the engineers to develop their skills, provide a robust training plan with assistance from the Chassis Business Manager, provide manageable goals for the engineers, give daily direction to the engineers to achieve their mission, and provide constructive feedback to improve their abilities. The Team Manager will work directly with BCI Quality to develop responsible quality targets for Chassis Suspension Engineering as well as a Quality Roadmap to achieve the annual target. This Team will spend the majority of its time at STLA vehicle assembly plants, proving grounds, and Tier 1 suppliers addressing product and process quality issues firsthand and applying reactive problem-solving tools to determine root cause and apply corrective actions. The Team Manager will work closely with the Chassis DR Managers, Dev Leads, Tech Leads to assure the Quality Roadmap is being executed effectively, assure issue Root Cause Analysis is accurate, seek approvals for Containment Actions and Permanent Corrective Actions, and provide the detail necessary for Lessons Learned follow up with the Chassis Technical Leads. The Team Manager will also prepare CCD templates for approval of necessary design changes to address product related quality issues. The Team Manager will assure the necessary preparation is in place to present progress updates at the STLA plant warranty tables (in person and/or remote). The Team Manager will assure the engineers are trained on business travel and expense reporting (monthly) to the nearby STLA Assy plants and proving grounds.

 

Required Qualifications

· BS degree in any of the following: Aeronautical/Aerospace, Agricultural, Biomedical/Biomechanical/Bioengineering, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Materials, Mechanical, or Metallurgical or equivalent from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) university.

· 20 years of design/development engineering experience in Chassis Engineering at an automotive OEM, Tier 1 Chassis Suppliers, or a combination there of.

· Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.

· Experience with Design/Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA).

· Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).

· Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Reactive Problem Solving.

· Solid understanding of the system/component design process.

· Experience with Change Management.

· General understanding of NX (STLA CAD Platform) and Teamcenter (STLA Product Data Management System).

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

· Engineering supervisory experience.

· Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work to cross functional teams as well as STLA Leadership.

· Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).

 

CHASSIS SUSPENSION SERIAL PRODUCTION QUALITY - TEAM ENGINEER

Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Team Engineers will be responsible for addressing product and process quality issues firsthand at the NA locations described in the General Overview section of this document. The Engineers will be required to participate in the issue discovery, collect the necessary data and measurements from the vehicle, and move forward with issue root cause analysis with the assistance of reactive quality tools. The STLA GIMs issues tracking system will be used to identify and track issue root cause, containment, and corrective actions. The engineer will investigate quality issues with the support of the Team Leader, and the Chassis Suspension core team. The Engineer will develop design & process actions to contain the issues found. The Engineer will prepare the permanent corrective actions with the approval of the Team Leader and STLA Core team. Those actions will be summarized in a CCD document to be prepared by the Team Leader. Further Change Management will be the responsibility of the STLA Chassis Core Team. The Engineer will also be responsible for on-going review and quality assurance of the manufacturing and assembly processes used at the STLA assembly plants and Tier 1 Modular and Product suppliers for the Suspension components and systems. The Engineer will be required to prepare summary reports for presentation to the STLA Assembly Plant warranty tables, and to Chassis leadership at weekly design reviews.

Required Qualifications

· BS degree in any of the following: Aeronautical/Aerospace, Agricultural, Biomedical/Biomechanical/Bioengineering, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Materials, Mechanical, or Metallurgical or equivalent from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) university.

· 1 to 5 years of Vehicle Engineering experience.

· Awareness of Design/Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA).

· Awareness of Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).

· Awareness of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Reactive Problem Solving.

· Vehicle system/component design experience.

· General understanding of NX (STLA CAD Platform) and Teamcenter (STLA Product Data Management System).

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to embrace teamwork.

· Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
