AUI is currently seeking a motivated individual to grow with us in our Daytona Beach offices.
CHARGE ENTRY SPECIALIST
Responsible for the accurate, timely posting of all charges to ensure the maximum
reimbursement for services performed by the physicians. Responsible for ensuring the
compliance of carrier regulations as it pertains to billable services.
DUTIES:
- Responsible for the audit and daily balancing of encounter forms forwarded for entry by the site offices.
- Responsible for ensuring the accurate insurance demographic entry of patient information to enable timely reimbursement.
- Responsible for the notification and accumulation of correct data from Physicians, hospital personnel and/or office personnel, in the event incomplete data is submitted.
- Responsible for current knowledge of all CPT codes and modifiers, ICD coding as well as any regulatory compliance issues as it pertains to billing of Physicians services.
- Responsible for notification to the Physician/Billing Manager of any errors and/or Compliance issues noted on submitted encounter forms for Charge Entry into the computer system.
- Responsible for the timely, accurate posting of all submitted encounter forms, hospital charges and any ancillary charges submitted by the Physicians supported by the billing department.
- Responsible for applying the collected co-pay for the date of service when prompted by the system.
- Participates in educational activities.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Act as team player: collaborate, communicate clearly, and cooperate with AUI (Advanced Urology Institute) team members with focus on mission and goals of AUI.
- Enhances communications by consistently displaying excellent customer service skills in behavior and attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of CPT-4 (Current Procedure Technology 4th Edition) and ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases 10th Edition) coding.
- Certified Coder
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) required.
- 1-2 years' experience with medical insurances
