Character Rigging Artist [Animation Department]

THE THIRD FLOOR is the worlds leading visualization company with offices in Los Angeles and London as well as on location with productions around the world. The company has won multiple Emmy and VES awards for its work. Recent projects include WandaVision and Hawkeye, Wonder Woman 1984, The Mandalorian, and many more.

THE THIRD FLOOR is seeking skilled Character Rigging Artists to join our new Animation Department, to help implement the technical and artistic elements of all character rigs during production. They will work in the rigging team and the animation team to create flexible character rigs for stylized animation production. Must have previous experience creating flexible character rigs in animated film or equivalent production.

Full Time. Remote Position. Must be in the state of California, Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York (Outside NYC), Colorado, Washington, or Canada for remote positions.

Responsibilities:

• Build rigs for characters in project pipeline

• Work with Character TDs on R&D/developing rigs and rigging tools

• Work with animators to develop intuitive rig controls

Essential Skills:

• Autodesk Maya

• Python

Additional Skills (nice to have):

• PyMEL

• Unreal Engine (Control Rig)
