What You Should Know About the Chaplain PRN Role:
- The Chaplain is a DRIVING position
- This is a Full Time position with varied hours of 8am-5pm
- We provide superior care and superior services to patients at their end of life journey. Only those who have a heart for hospice will succeed
The Chaplain Essential Duties Are:
We provide superior care for patients in families in homes/facilities. Our Chaplain’s provide care grounded in initiating, developing, deepening and closing a spiritual and empathic relationship with those receiving care. The development of a genuine relationship is at the core of chaplaincy care. Our Chaplains make spiritual assessments of patients, considering mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual stresses, and respond with support, guidance and counseling. Chaplain duties pertain to the end of life needs of not only of patients, but also their families, caregivers, community, and even the interdisciplinary team.
Chaplain Qualifications:
· Master of Divinity (M.Div.) required or equivalent in Theology.
· Preferred candidates are ordained or commissioned ministers that are ecclesiastically endorsed by their recognized faith group or religious organization.
· Preferred candidates should be board certified, eligible for certification or working towards certification by APC, BC-HPCC, NACC or NAJC.
· Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) 4 units preferred; minimum 1 unit and enrolled for completion.
· Three years of current active pastoral ministry or chaplaincy experience.
· Computer skills sufficient to properly document services and care.
· Ability to drive during daytime, nighttime or inclement weather.
· Valid Driver's License with Safe Driving Record.
· State Minimum Automobile Insurance Coverage.
