Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000
Full-Time, Exempt
40 hours per week
Fully onsite position
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the Clinical Sciences Department.
- Develop and implement academic programs that align with the department's goals and the institution's mission.
- Foster a culture of excellence in clinical education, research, and service among faculty and staff.
- Encourage the integration of technology and modern pedagogical techniques into teaching practices.
Faculty Development:
- Assist in the recruitment and mentoring, evaluation, and support of faculty members within the department.
- Facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance teaching and research skills.
- Promote a diverse and inclusive environment that values and supports faculty contributions.
Curriculum Development:
- Oversee the development and assessment of curricula that meet industry and accreditation standards.
- Ensure the relevance and currency of academic programs to keep pace with advancements in basic sciences.
- Collaborate with faculty to design innovative and interdisciplinary courses.
- Research and Scholarship:
- Promote and support faculty research and scholarship activities.
- Foster collaborations and partnerships with other departments and institutions.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the department's budget, allocating resources effectively.
- Ensure responsible financial stewardship and compliance with institutional policies.
- Administrative Oversight:
- Manage departmental operations, including scheduling, facilities, and equipment.
- Oversee departmental committees and administrative staff.
- Handle student-related issues and academic advisement as needed.
Qualifications:
- A terminal degree (DC, Ph.D., or equivalent) in a relevant field within the basic sciences.
- A valid chiropractic license in the respective jurisdiction.
- Significant clinical experience in chiropractic practice.
- Proven leadership experience in an academic setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in academic administration or departmental leadership roles.
- Knowledge of chiropractic education standards and accreditation processes.
- Knowledge of accreditation processes and standards.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
