APN Healthcare Solutions is urgently hiring multiple Certified Surgical Technologists for our client in Rochester, NY for a 13-26 week contract with a high possibility of extension.

Position Title: Certified Surgical Technologist
Work Location: Rochester, NY
Shift : 8-12 hr NOC/Rotating
Hours/day: 36-40 hrs/week
Contract Duration: 13-26 weeks
Pay Rate: $58/hr
Experience Requirement: 1+ years as a certified Surg Tech, Vascular experience
Certification Requirement: National CST certification, BLS from AHA
Job Description

• ***Vascular experience in both hybrid and open surge cases***
• Approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience and successful achievement in medications exam.
• Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfection of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting.
• OR experience preferred
• Desire to work within an Operating Room setting.
• Continuing education requirements of 15 CEU's per year.
• Qualified candidate will function under the direct supervision of an RN and assist in Nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performing routine & delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and department.
• Candidate will perform technical duties relating to scrub personnel, including precise & efficient reaction to all situations & assist with departmental work as assigned.
• Surgical techs have a vital role in creating and maintaining a sterile surgical room and ensure that surgical equipment is functioning properly & safely as well as assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Operating room surgical technician is an integral member of the multidisciplinary surgical team.
• The surgical technician acts as a scrub person, prepares and handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure.
• Participates in the on-call schedule for afterhours urgent/ emergent surgical cases, unless otherwise indicated.
• Stocking adequate supplies for surgery.
• Preparing patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
• Providing support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies.
• Tracking surgical supplies.
• Staying up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures
• Helping provide great patient care.
