Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and certified Steel Welder proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of welding principles, safety protocols, and be capable of producing high-quality welds in a variety of steel materials. The Steel Welder will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of our products through precise and proficient welding techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding operations on steel components based on project specifications and blueprints.
- Set up welding equipment, ensuring proper settings for voltage, amperage, and gas flow, as well as electrode and filler material selection.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to accurately execute welds according to industry standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with the fabrication team to plan and execute welding tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Conduct visual inspections of welds, identifying defects or imperfections, and rectifying them to meet quality standards.
- Operate cutting and grinding equipment to prepare materials for welding, remove excess weld material, and ensure smooth and polished finishes.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents, maintain a safe work environment, and protect personal and team members' well-being.
- Maintain welding equipment by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and addressing minor repairs as needed.
- Keep accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, project progress, and any issues encountered.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and project managers to ensure projects are executed to specifications and meet quality standards.
- Continuously enhance welding skills and stay updated on industry trends and advancements to improve overall performance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Valid welding certification(s) in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
- Proven experience as a Certified Steel Welder with a strong portfolio showcasing successful completion of diverse welding projects.
- Solid understanding of welding techniques, principles, and best practices in steel materials.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Knowledge of different steel types and their welding requirements.
- Familiarity with various welding equipment and tools, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, and other related tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues effectively.
- Exceptional safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members, supervisors, and project managers.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform welding tasks in various positions and environments.
Preferred:
- Additional certifications or training in welding-related areas.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, construction, or fabrication environment.
