Certified Seasonal Ground Maintenance / Custodial

The Certified Seasonal Ground Maintenance / Custodial Services position performs maintenance duties on the Campus grounds and related equipment and interior cleaning and maintenance. One of the open positions will have a greater focus on the principles of horticulture working within our main campus. The other open position will have a greater focus on sports turn, event setup, and coordination where a background in turf management will benefit. Both are critically detail oriented.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) union represented position. Typical Grounds Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. approximately April 15 through October 15. Typical Custodial Services Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. approximately October 15 through April 15.

Primary Grounds duties include:

• Maintenance and improvement of College grounds including turf, landscape plantings and structures, walks, roads, and athletic fields on a seasonal basis.
• Maintenance, accurate record keeping of service intervals, and routine trouble shooting and repair of related equipment. Identify needs for periodic and major equipment repair and maintenance.

Primary Custodial duties include:

• Perform all cleaning procedures required of area to include locking and unlocking interior/exterior doors, vacuum and spot carpet and fabric furniture, inventory management and maintain safety, cleanliness, proper storage and use of equipment, vehicles, and personal safety equipment.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of job-related chemicals, proper labeling and environmental health and physical concerns.
