WellStone is North Alabama’s most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons a year in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.
The CRNP in our Huntsville location will split their time between the adult counseling clinic and the adult medical clinic. This candidate will work independently as well as in conjunction with the treatment team, and is responsible for evaluating patients health status based on information provided, and medical histories to establish care and treatment plans as needed. Full-Time, First Shift.
What we're looking for:
- Masters of Nursing and licensed as RN and CRNP in Alabama
- Clinical Specialty in the appropriate area of practice and working with adults
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language; Spanish helpful
- Prefer a minimum of two years of experience in a medical environment
- Computer literacy including use of Microsoft Office, internet applications, and use of Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Demonstrate the ability to work with a Multi-Disciplinary team and community partners
- Knowledge of the DSM-V, ability to formulate diagnoses, and prescribe legend drugs
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
- Must be able to maintain current Licensing, training, and ethical requirements
What you'll be doing:
- Serve clients through an integrated care approach.
- Conducting comprehensive individual assessments, including assessing for suicidal/homicidal risk and instituting emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures.
- Use of electronic prescription and medication management tools to authorize legend drugs and order lab tests as appropriate.
- Provide patient-centered care while recognizing cultural diversity and ensuring that the patient and/or designee is a full partner in decision making. Preserves the patient’s control over decision making by negotiating a mutually acceptable plan of care.
- Obtain, record and analyze patient medical histories, symptoms and conditions in the EHR.
- Counsel, educate, and assist consumers and their families to assume responsibility for self-care in the prevention of illness, health maintenance, recovery, health restoration, and in understanding medication side effects and warnings.
- Perform follow-up and medication monitoring for existing clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
