About the Club:
Mountain Ridge is a private country club located in Northern New Jersey just 20 miles from New York City, we provide an oasis of comfort and leisure to our Members. With roots deep in the culture of our community, we have been a second home for generations of families and friends. We provide our Members a premier full service, family orientated country club experience.
Position Overview:
A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) is responsible for the operation and maintenance of main and child swimming pool and pool deck during the summer months from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. The primary responsibilities of a CPO may include:

Pool Maintenance

• Daily inspections of the pool make sure the pool is cleaned regularly throughout the day by lifeguard staff, this includes skimming, vacuuming, and backwashing the filter as needed.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate water chemistry levels, including pH, chlorine, and other chemicals, to ensure the pool is safe and clean for swimmers.
• Perform the necessary tasks to open the pool for the season and close it at the end of the season, including winterization.

Equipment Inspection, Inventory and Water Testing

• Inspect and maintain pool equipment, such as pumps, filters, and chemical feeders.
• Perform minor repairs and arrange for professional repairs or replacements with the General Manager and/or Building Engineer when necessary.
• Maintain the cleanliness of water aerobics, pool toys/floats, and other pool supplies stocked and in good working order, replace when needed.
• Regularly test the pool water to ensure it meets health and safety standards.
• Make appropriate adjustments as needed to maintain water quality and clarity.

Safety Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to pool operation and safety.
• Implement safety measures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment for swimmers.
• Update General Manager as needed about important information pertaining to the lifeguard program and/or pool.
• Maintain detailed records of pool maintenance, water chemistry tests, and equipment inspections.
• Keep records of chemicals used and their dosages for our own records and for the Health Department.
• Ensure the first aid kid is fully stocked with appropriate items as needed.

Staff Supervision

· Supervise and train seasonal pool lifeguards and oversee regular training for guards.

· Oversee the supervision of pool attendants and snack bar staff with the assistance of the management team.

Emergency Response

· Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as drowning incidents or other accidents, and administer first aid or coordinate with emergency services as needed.

Member Engagement and Billing

· Make sure staff are properly checking in members and guests for accurate billing.

· Be the face of the Aquatics program and engage with the entire membership.

• Treat all members fairly, honestly, uniformly, and with respect.
• Ensure a positive and welcoming atmosphere at the pool facility.
• Handle the general safety of all members and guests and adhere to the MRCC pool rules and State Laws, report any concerns to the General Manager.

Qualifications:

· Completion of a CPO certification course from an accredited organization such as NSPF or similar is mandatory.

· Candidate must be knowledgeable about local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to pool operation and safety, as compliance is a critical part of the role.

· Must have at least 3 years minimum of experience in a high-end pool facility.

· Effective communication skills, ability to speak with Members, staff, and other management.

· Must be able to lift 50lbs.

· Must have experience to train and supervise lifeguards and oversee other pool personnel.

Certifications:

· Certified Pool Operator

· First Aid (CPR and AED) Certified

Holiday Bonus eligibility up to 10%
