As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals in crisis recover from alcohol and drug dependencies, and achieve their goals.Some highlights of this positions include: Competitive pay Shift differential (extra $1/hr for overnight hours worked) Comprehensive benefits package Career advancement opportunities within a supportive and dynamic organization The satisfaction of making a real difference in people's lives every day A warm, supportive work environment and positive culture* Earn your Missouri Certified Peer Specialist credential at no cost (Available exclusively for this position at the Behavioral Crisis Center) Key responsibilities Participate in treatment planning with the team and client Engage clients in a collaborative and caring relationship, using interpersonal skills, knowledge about recovery, and a trauma-informed approach Provide support to clients through validation, exploration, and pursuit of community roles, and convey hope and celebrate efforts and accomplishments Share personal recovery experiences and practices to inspire and support clients Assist clients in identifying their strengths and personal resources to aid in their recovery Develop, maintain, and provide information about community resources and services Accompany clients to community activities and attend relevant events* Qualifications** High School Diploma/GED Must have a valid driver's license and a favorable recent driving record.
