Peer Recovery Specialist
Title:Peer Recovery Specialist
Classification: Partl time (5 hours / week)
Salary: $22/hr
Hours: Various hours Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday
Supervisor: Executive Director
Qualifications:
The Peer Recovery Specialist requires a CPRS Certification (or willing to work on/obtain in first 6 months of employment), and RPS Certification preferred. High school diploma/G.E.D. and 3 letters of recommendation; must have worked within the last three years with at least 12 months’ total of successful part or full time paid or voluntary work experience and have acquired or meet the qualifications for certification as a Certified Recovery Specialist.
As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will be actively working with our peers in a peer support role. We encourage you to continue working on your CPRS and obtain your certification within 6 months of employment.
Individual must have an understanding of and respect for each individual’s unique path to recovery. Peer Recovery Specialist must have a working knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system and a demonstrated commitment to the recovery community. The Peer Recovery Specialist’s role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder and/or mental health challenge(s). The Peer Recovery Specialist will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. The Peer Specialist must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and to develop authentic peer to-peer relationships.
In this role, you should combine a strong attention to detail with an ability to multi-task and complete tasks. You should be reliable, a problem-solver and possess strong project management skills. Your goal will be to ensure that our training programs are engaging and run smoothly.

- All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director (Board President if ED role is vacant)
