BPN Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Surgical Technologist to provide services for a 13-week contract.
Job description:

  • Shifts available:
  1. -Day (4x10 Hours) 7:00-17:00
  2. -Day (3x12 Hours) 7:00-19:00
  • Call 1-2 nights/week. 1 weekend every 5-6 weekends.
  • Call required
  • Weekly pay w/ travel stipend included
Job Summary:

Applies surgical technology skills to assist in providing patient care in the surgical suite while maintaining a safe work environment and performing all related job responsibilities. Ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates the multidisciplinary activities required to provide the highest standard of care for the perioperative patient including providing a safe environments for the patient.
  • Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior to the surgical procedure.
  • Assists Registered Nurse circulator in preparation of patient assembly of supplies instruments and equipment as well as proper disposition of all specimens.
  • Performs surgical scrub duties sponge instrument and needle counts according to department policy and procedure.
  • Provides the surgeon with appropriate instruments supplies and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Monitors and maintains sterility of surgical field and supplies according to departmental policy.
  • Assists with all aspects of room turnover and instrument/equipment processing.
  • Assists with positioning of the patient according to departmental policy.
  • Monitors and documents sterilization activities for completion and accuracy according to departmental policy/guidelines.
Requirements:

  • Must have 2 Years of recent Surgical Technologist Experience!
  • Must have valid BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Strong Transplant experience is a must
  • Skills Required: Scrub, Aseptic Technique, Must be able to scrub Hepatobiliary, Kidney and Liver Transplants
  • Must have DC license
  • Proof of covid vaccine
