The Occupational Therapist assistant is responsible for providing occupational therapy treatment to inpatients and/or outpatients. The Occupational Therapist assistant is responsible for implementing and improving occupational therapy services and providing appropriate documentation and billing for such services. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for supervising occupational therapy assistants students and coordinating care.

- Treats patients in need of occupational therapy services and participates in and provides all necessary components of this responsibility including completion of treatment sessions per established treatment plans and collaborating with supervisory Occupational Therapist.
- Produces appropriate documentation and billing in compliance with all third party payor and regulatory guidelines
- Provides oversite and supervision of other support personnel and occupational therapy students.
- Completes appropriate communication with all patients, caregivers, fellow staff, and referring providers/clinicians.
- Coordinates with other staff and caregivers to provide optimal care to patient including care coordination, patient care conferences, and scheduling.
- Assists and advises supervisory personnel, management, and administration in development and implementation of quality occupational therapy services, programs, policies, and procedures.
Required:
- Graduate of accredited educational program in occupational therapy.
- Current license, in good standing, to practice occupational therapy as an assistant in the state of Iowa, or eligible.
- Read, write, comprehend, and speak fluent English
- Possess basic computer skills and knowledge.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-2 years experience preferred but not required.
- NBCOT certified and AOTA membership preferred.
