Job Description
The Nursing Assistant will provide or assist with basic care or support under the direction of the Licensed Practical Nurse. They will perform duties such as monitoring of health status, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, or ambulation.
- Understand and promotes the concept of assisted living with the philosophy of independence, autonomy, respect, and dignity.
- Act as an active member of the resident care team.
- Deliver resident care in accordance with the service plan.
- Maintain standards of nursing care.
- Act as a resident advocate.
- Assist in the preparation for the admission of a new resident and/or returning resident.
- Notify appropriate licensed personnel of any resident complaints of pain or discomfort, any changes observed in condition or behavior, and unusual incidents and obtain vital signs of any complaints of illness prior to reporting to the nurse.
- Assist licensed personnel n treatment procedures when necessary.
- Provide general resident care such as positioning, lifting, assisting in the use of bedpan or commode, and ambulation of the resident.
- Receive and give reports to outgoing and oncoming staff.
- Adhere to the policies/procedures of the facility and the rules/regulations of the Office of Long-Term Care.
- Participate in all functions of the facility sanitation including keeping trash bags in residents' rooms.
- Perform all aspects of resident care in an environment to optimize resident safety and reduce the likelihood of any medical/health errors.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
