- Provide 1:1 care in resident homes located on campus.
- Promote independent living activities, provide quality assistance with activities of daily living to enable residents to maintain independent living for as long as appropriate and possible.
- Assist with ADL's, dressing/bathing, meal preparation and household tasks including light laundry, dishes and bed making. This can include pet care.
- Assist with transportation, transfers or ambulation as resident's condition warrants.
- Assist members with making appointments as requested.
- Provide reminders to take medication.
- Facilitate exercise programs and encourage member to participate in campus activities.
- Offer companionship for off campus excursions/appointments/shopping.
- Observe and report changes in behavior/appearance to the RN immediately.
- Performance of assigned tasks in emergency situations including fire, electrical and disasters.
- Provide a compliant calendar of availability to the scheduling department by the 15th of every month containing all required elements to maintain PRN status.
- Active North Carolina CNA certification or working towards one.
- First Aid/CPR Certified.
- One (1) year experience working as a CNA/PCA/HHA/RA preferred.
- Experience in geriatrics preferred but not required.
- Need to have reliable transportation and be comfortable working around pets.
Pay range $15.50 - $16.44 per hour depending on experience.
