Job Summary: The Medical Assistant (MA) or Clinic Team Member will perform a wide variety of clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care delivery. The Medical Assistant will cross-train in other areas of the clinic and will be able to use your problem-solving skills to overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. Duties will be delegated and supervised by the Provider (Physician/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicating with patients, front desk and clinical staff, and providers.
- Recording patient history and personal information.
- Entering patient information into the software system.
- Performs general clinical duties to ensure good patient flow. These duties include, but are not limited to:
- Taking vital signs
- Rooming in VLD
- Injections under provider supervision
- Venipuncture
- Occupational Medicine Testing to include UDS, BAT, Various Employer Physicals, Spirometry, and Audiometry.
- Snellen Eye Chart
- CLIA Waived Lab Testing
- Orthopedic Splinting
- Bandaging (without packing)
- Set up and Chaperone (if needed) during procedures/exams (e.g. pelvic, laceration repairs)
- Calling 911 and transfer process
- Hazardous Waste Disposal
- Exam Room Turnover
- EKG
- Ear Lavage
- Cross train to complete the patient registration process and front office procedures.
- Maintain HIPAA standards and confidentiality regarding patient personal and financial information.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must possess one of the following credentials: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant is required
- Willingness to obtain Occupational Medicine Certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred and is required within 90 days of hire.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written.
- Excellent communication skills with providers, staff, management, patients and companies.
- Ability to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying team leader.
- Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families.
- Able to withstand physical & mental demands: standing, walking, stooping, bending.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
