Certified Medical Assistant-Oncology-Clinic-Full-Time
- Responsible to ensure efficient in-office patient flow.
- This position is critical to the physician and mid-levels so that they may devote their time directly to the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Performs and records vital signs, initiates patient histories, draws blood and assures specimens are labeled correctly and sent to the laboratory in a timely manner.
- Administers SQ & IM injections, performs Accu-Chek's, prepares patient and assists with exams and procedures if needed.
- Stocks exam rooms/patient refreshments, ensures charts and encounter forms are completed, calls for referrals if needed, assists physicians with efficient patient flow, directs patients thru discharge process, cross trains in other office positions, and all other duties as assigned. Obtains medical records from referring providers.
- All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.
I. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
- Certifications based on unit worked.
- BLS
