Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting physicians and nurses in providing patient care. Assists other healthcare professionals with exams and minor office procedures. Maintains supply inventory in exam rooms; cleans and sterilizes equipment. Willingness to travel, as needed to our four office locations: Morristown, Jefferson, Bridgewater and Bedminster, NJ.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s mission and core values and incorporates them into the performance of duties at the Center.
2. Demonstrates skill in obtaining vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, height and weight and documents appropriately.
3. Ensures medical record availability and completeness.
4. Maintains patient flow to and from exam/treatment area and to other areas as needed.
5. Prepares patients for physical exams, procedures and treatments.
6. Assists physician and health care personnel with examinations, procedures and treatments.
7. May take laboratory specimens, including blood work, as needed.
8. Maintains supplies and cleanliness of patient space, restocks supplies, linen, trays and instruments as needed.
9. Notifies supervisor of any shortage of any supplies and linens.
10. Assures completion of patient charge charts/encounter forms per policy.
11. Maintain cooperative and professional relationships with physicians, nurses and office and clinical staff in person and on the phone.
12. Applies principles of infection control as outlined in infection control manual in the performance of patient care.
13. Prepares any necessary equipment required, in advance for examination by physicians and/or health care personnel.
14. Functions as a respectful member of the health care team.
15. Performs other related duties as needed by providers and supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications:
· HS Diploma and 1 year relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum one (1) year post-certificate paid work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid Certificate (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant)
Prior medical assisting in an orthopedic or sports medicine setting.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Medical office environment.
Lifting or moving patients as needed using assistance as necessary.

Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 – 40 per week
