Job Description
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will provide direct clinical assistance to patients and provider(s) within the clinic setting. Gathers information and prepares each patient for examination. Assists provider(s) with patient procedures and follow up.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- None
- Taking patient vital signs and histories and documenting this in the EHR.
- Preparing patients for medical examinations.
- Assisting provider(s) during examinations and/or procedures.
- Provide basic patient care or treatments such as administering medications via topical, oral, subcutaneous or intramuscular routes, dressing changes, or suture/staple removal.
- Obtaining lab specimens as ordered.
- Communicating between patient, provider, and other team members as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
- Excellent speaking and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential records.
- CMA Certificate from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program
- BLS Certificate
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May require prolonged periods of standing, moving, and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
