Certified Dietary Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Graduate of Dietary Manager’s Program.
- Successful completion of the Certified Dietary Manager exam.
- Two years’ experience and/or training in foodservice management.
- Prior experience in healthcare food service preferred.
- Experience with and knowledge of computers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned:
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with all food service personnel, as well as with other departments and patients/residents within the facility, to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the patients/residents.
- Attend care plan meetings and discuss changes with RD
- Conduct test trays as assigned
- Communicate with RD and nursing regarding changes and recommendations
- Obtain monthly weights from nursing and identify significant changes
- Round nurses stations after weights obtained by CNAs and ensure residents weight are documented accurately
- Process new diet orders and diet changes; keep diet cards updated
- Review diet orders monthly
- Review resident choice forms quarterly
- Complete assigned MDS section according to required timeline
- Determine residents needs and develop appropriate dietary plans in cooperation with RD and in compliance with physicians’ orders
- Review plan of care related to nutritional status; document concerns that can be resolved, improved, or addressed to improve residents nutritional status and eating function
- Review, revise and implement the residents nutrition assessment and plan of care
- Chart on all quarterly and significant changes
- Support RD duties as needed
- Participate/assist with departmental projects, as assigned.
- Attend and participate in in-service training programs within the department and facility.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient/resident care information to ensure patient/resident rights are protected.
- Identify resident requirements, seek resident feedback, and meet resident expectations on a timely basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
